Green Industry; Lawn-Landscape-Golf, deemed essential!

Virginia

On March 30, 2020, the governor issued an Executive Order entitled Temporary Stay At Home Order Due To Novel Coronavirus.

This new executive order continues to allow lawn, landscape and golf operations to operate.  The Virginia Agribusiness Council advises: “Executive Order 55 does not change the requirements for green industry.  The order does exempt individuals traveling to and from work and the closures of business still only apply to those businesses that were required to be closed by Executive Order 53 issued last week.  This means that all agriculture and forestry industries would be deemed essential.  Garden centers selling lawn and garden equipment and home improvement equipment are essential as well.  Golf courses are allowed to remain open as outdoor recreation as long as they do not allow groups to congregate of 10 or more.”
